The other weekend I saw Solo: A Star Wars Story, and it was the absolute most incredibly okay Star Wars cinematic experience I have ever had. It was competently performed, competently written, competently paced and competently shot. It was a film whose priority was to depict Han Solo getting into interstellar hijinks while systematically checking off Star Wars boxes. And then it strives to do absolutely nothing else. After watching it, you will likely leave the theatre indifferent, none the worse for wear, but also lacking any sense of real fulfillment or emotional elevation.
Quite the contrast to the Star Wars movie that preceded it. ItR
